Nottingham High School's 'Saint George and the Dragon'

Year 5 students working collaboratively created their own interpretation of 'Saint George and the Dragon'. Different groups created the background in sections using sponge effects. Each group looked closely at the different parts of Uccello's painting and interpreted it using their skills and knowledge. The figures were then constructed separately using collage. Finally the whole piece was put together by the entire class.

Students wanted to get across the effect of the painting and the story it tells by interpreting it using different media.
