Cheetah Sculptures by Saint Nicholas Junior School
Year 3 students from Saint Nicholas Junior School made these life-size models of cheetahs. They wanted the animals to appear as lifelike as possible, so they used the Internet and other resources for photographs of cheetahs, as well as first looking at Titian's representation of them. The basic shape was made from a wooden frame covered in chicken wire. Next, layers of papier mâché were applied with alternate layers of newspaper and white paper. Students then painted a base coat. They researched the correct markings, noticing that colours varied on different parts of the cheetah's body. |
