Saint Nicholas Junior School - Cheetah sculptures

Year 3 students from Saint Nicholas Junior School made these life-size models of cheetahs.

They wanted the animals to appear as lifelike as possible so they researched the cheetah's camouflage and natural habitat. The basic shape was made from a wooden frame covered in chicken wire. Next, layers of papier mâché were applied with alternate layers of newspaper and white paper. Students then painted a base coat. The correct markings and colours were then painted on the cheetah's body.
