Musical sculpture

Archbishop Wake CE VA Primary School

A sculptor in residence worked with pupils of all ages to make what the children named 'The Crashing Bashing Tweeter Beater'. After looking at 'Two Boys and a Girl Making Music', groups discussed the musical instruments in the painting and the sounds they might make.

As a result they decided to make a musical, playable, moveable sculpture, so that every child in the school could have fun making music. Design ideas were inspired by items such as the spoons and the helmet from the painting, as well as the bird that has flown the nest.
