Flore C. E. Primary School

Key Stage 2 pupils (8-11 years) from Flore C. E. Primary School, Northampton, focused on the theme of jewellery.

They made sketches of the Marquise de Seignelay's pearl locket, her gemmed belt and shoes and the jewels in her hair. They made detailed first-hand drawings of real jewellery items collected and brought into school.

Linking with the Greek mythological theme of the painting, pupils also researched ancient Greek designs, and made necklaces, bracelets and earrings from clay, influenced by their historical enquiries.
